When a player’s color gradient goes steadily from yellow to orange to red without ever really reversing, that means the player’s minutes were all (or nearly all) positive. It can be interpreted as one team exploiting a matchup while the other team fails to make the proper adjustment, like with Philadelphia’s Thaddeus Young here. The opposite case, a trend line that goes yellow to green to black with few or no reversals, means that a single player was handicapping his team, like Orlando’s Hedo Turkoglu here. The two players’ minutes overlap in the 2nd Half when a couple big momentum swings decided the game, and that might confound the analysis. But I feel comfortable saying that Young was great for the 76ers, and Turkoglu stunk for the Magic. Philadelphia  2733201696Orlando  2128281794
